Damage to Your Skin Can Last a Lifetime, But It Doesn’t Have To

When you’re younger, the thoughts of wrinkles and sun spots that invade your mind as you age simply don’t exist. You think you can spend as much time in the sun as you want, that you don’t have to worry about what you use to wash your face, and the idea of additional hydration seems like something you’d do only for your plants.

Needless to say, you didn’t have a skin care in the world back then. The wrinkles in your life belonged to your grandmother, and your thoughts of skin protection included an SPF 4 and possibly a cute hat. Sure, getting sunburned hurt, but otherwise, it didn’t matter much to you. But skin changes as you get older— just ask any adolescent whose baby-smooth, flawless exterior has been transformed by the arrival of acne. Even then, you might be worried more about how that pimple affects your chances of a date than the actual health of your skin.

Almost everything you do to your skin over the course of your lifetime will leave some lasting impression, but the internal aging process is something that happens naturally. Wrinkles, thinning, sagging, and dryness are all part of this process. When your skin ages, it doesn’t replace elastin and collagen—the proteins that keep your skin strong and elastic—as quickly. Year after year, these essential components of firm and healthy skin are produced more slowly, something you cannot stop from happening (but you can help). There’s no real science to determining when you’ll begin to see the signs of diminished proteins, increased wrinkles, and other indicators of aging. This in large part depends on your genes. If your mother started getting wrinkles in her 30s, it’s likely that you will, too.

Other factors, such as sun exposure, dry climates, and subpar skincare products will also increase the signs of aging, and these are all things we can control. Exposure to the sun definitely ages your skin— and beyond just wrinkles, it can cause age spots and a leathery look. Smoking, diet, and certain repeated facial expressions also play a part. If you furrow your brow a lot, for example, you’ll probably get wrinkles on your forehead. When you smoke, you tend to get wrinkles around your mouth and jaw area, which often makes people look much older than they actually are.

All this said, there are ways to mitigate some of the side effects of aging skin, as well as learn how to help tackle different skin conditions associated with aging. Maintaining a healthy, consistent skincare regimen is first and foremost in fighting the debilitating bombardment your skin has experienced over the years.

Products designed meet the needs of your skin at varying ages can be a great  defense against premature aging, and an essential way to keep your skin looking as healthy and hydrated as possible. One company, Stages of Beauty offers  a complete skincare regimen developed to help you look your best at any age—and to help ensure your skin is healthy and radiant. Minerals and nutrients such as acai oil and botanical stem cells are suggested to keep your skin looking fresh and nourished in your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond.

Why Selena Gomez Should Call Brad Pitt

You’d think that if your dad was Brad Pitt you’d be naturally inclined to see what he does for a living. Maybe watch a few of his movies or something. Sitting in a movie theater for a few hours sounds like the best “Take Your Child To Work Day,” right?
Brad’s got a new film called World War Z and don’t expect his daughters to be standing in line for it anytime soon or ever.
“If it’s got Selena Gomez in it or something they’ll be interested in it,” he told Access Hollywood at the Times Square premiere in New York City on Monday. “I gotta work on that for the next one.”
Hear that? It’s Selena’s agent making a personal phone call to Brad’s agent to slate a potential production of their next summer 2015 action-comedy vehicle.
It wasn’t a total loss for dad however. He says he still “earned some points with them and they gave [World War Z] a thumbs up.

David Beckham as New Bond

You read that right. If Daniel Craig were to hang up his 007 badge, have no fear because David Beckham is waiting in the wings to take over.
According to his wife, Victoria Beckham, that is.
During a joint interview with a Chinese news station, the star couple fielded questions regarding David’s recent retirement and potential acting career.
"I have some friends who are actors, Tom Cruise is a very good friend of ours,” David said. “But I don't think I have any plans to become an actor. I'm not sure I'd be very good at it."
Where David played it coy with the “I don’t think”-s and the “I’m not sure” *wink* *wink*, Victoria was more assertive. “I think you would be really good at acting,” she said, then turned to the reporter to gain some third-party support.
"Don't you think he'd be good at acting? I think you'd be great!" she added. "I think he should be James Bond! He'd be a good James Bond!"
It's still way too early to make assumptions that David's in talks to be the next Bond when Daniel's still got that gig for the next installment or two. On a more general note, he does have the look to portray a small character in a hypothetical Guy Ritchie heist-caper movie where a British cartel smuggles drugs in through soccer balls, don't you think?

Anna Nicole Smith Lifetime Biopic Possibly Part Of Legal Dispute

Anna Nicole Smith poses at a movie premiere.
Remember that scene in the Anna Nicole Smith Lifetime biopicAnna Nicole, which premiered this weekend, where she flashes her boobs to a trucker while in a red Mercedes?
Well, those things cost money to fix up!
Not her boobs — the MERCEDES. (Oh, okay — BOTH.)
The owner of the 1995 Mercedes SL500, Cherry Banez, leased the car for use in the film about the late model/actress/personality, and claims the cast and crew did $200 of damage to the speakers.
Cherry claims her attempts to contact the production company have been ignored, and says:
“I have retained a lawyer to a point of taking legal action to get the money owed for damage caused to my car during filming.”
We have a feeling that $200 is going to be chump change compared to what it could end up costing Cherry to lawyer up, BUT she doesdeserve at least a call back from the movie’s people.
It’s the principle!
And if there’s one thing Anna Nicole Smith stood for it was principle!!! Probably.
Sometimes it was hard to tell EXACTLY what she was talking about.
But we loved her ANYWAY!
Good luck, Cherry!!!
